Under the hood: Sibi

Anyone who works in healthcare knows how valuable involved employees are. After all, people care. Keeping those people is often the biggest challenge. In this edition of under the hood, we take a closer look at intranet supplier Sibi.

The employee journey on 1

Sibi was born out of the ambition to retain and retain employees within healthcare organizations, with the ultimate goal of increasing happiness at work: having fun at work. Their platform supports the entire journey that someone takes within an organization (the employee journey): from the first contact to the farewell. According to Sibi, a warm farewell is at least as important as a warm welcome.

On board from the moment of drawing

Sibi does not see the employee journey as a journey that only begins on the first working day. The platform therefore supports employees from preboarding: the period between signing the contract and the first working day. New colleagues are received via a personal onboarding portal. This portal is tailor-made and fits the culture of the care organization.

In the run-up to their first day at work, new colleagues can introduce themselves, for example, via a personal message. That message then appears on the regular, social intranet. Colleagues can react to it and welcome the new employee in advance. This creates a connection before day one.

Connection as a red wire

In the daily hustle and bustle of working in healthcare, it is easy to work side by side. Sibi helps organizations to continue to actively nurture interconnectedness. The platform encourages employees to respond, give compliments, or just share something.

”It’s about paying attention when you don’t expect it, but appreciate it, ‘
says Lennard Veldwijk, founder of Sibi. This makes the intranet not only functional, but also human.

Knowledge and communication hand in hand

Sibi offers everything you would expect from a modern intranet: communication, knowledge sharing, profiles, groups, collaboration tools and mobile accessibility. The distinction is mainly in the context.
An integrated document management system (DMS) ensures that protocols and guidelines are always available in one central place. In addition, with the help of an AI assistant, employees can ask questions in their own words, even in their own language, and immediately receive relevant answers.

Offboarding: the value of a warm departure

Where many organizations focus their attention mainly on onboarding, Sibi looks further. According to them, it is precisely in the offboarding phase that the gold for organizational development lies. ‘Leaving people are often more honest than the people who are already there,” says Lennard Veldwijk.

The platform therefore facilitates outflow research and feedback moments. The insights that this provides help organizations learn from departing colleagues and reduce turnover rates over time. An employee who leaves with a good feeling also contributes positively to the reputation of the organization. Former colleagues can also be ambassadors, and tell their network about their great former employer. In healthcare, people also regularly (temporarily) return to the profession. Employees who have had a pleasant offboarding are more likely to return to work with their former employer. There is even a term for this: the boomerang employee.

An ecosystem that moves with you

Sibi involves the entire ecosystem around the employee. HR, executives and colleagues are involved in every stage of a person’s career through the intranet. The platform is scalable and flexible – tailored to teams, locations or function groups – so that the information remains relevant for every user.
With the data that the system collects, Sibi also helps organizations to look ahead. The goal: to give Team Leaders timely insight into who needs extra attention, for example because someone is considering leaving or is not feeling well. For example, the intranet acts as a progress indicator, which not only signals, but also brings the insights directly to the right person to take action.

More than a social intranet

Sibi does not like to call itself just a ‘social intranet’. That term does not do justice to the width of the platform, according to them. It is a complete system in which knowledge, communication and the entire employee journey come together, with a strong focus on both onboarding and offboarding.
Ultimately, Sibi is all about one key question: How do you make people feel connected to the organization where they work? From the moment they enter, to the moment they leave (and maybe return one day).

Cost

Sibi offers multiple software solutions: for onboarding, offboarding, engagement, employee satisfaction surveys and a loose social intranet. Prices vary by part. On average, the price is €0.75 per user per month.
