There are numerous internal social platforms and intranets available, each with its own purpose and functionalities. Choosing the right platform is therefore not easy. In this series ‘under the hood’ we explore what different platforms have to offer. This way you can better determine which platform best suits your organization. This time we take A&M impact from Doetinchem under the microscope.
A&M impact: intranet provider with expertise in healthcare
A&M impact’s first client was a disability care organization, for which the company built a website. Now, 25 years later, A&M impact’s portfolio has expanded to 250+ healthcare clients. A&M impact develops a complete communication platform with which organizations can serve their internal and external target groups. The social intranet is their main product and plays a central role in this.
Standard solution with customization options
Better care through smarter communication-that is the vision of A&M impact. Based on the idea that care workers should have more time to provide care, they are developing a social intranet that is easy to use for everyone within the care organization. Not another application, but one application that brings everything together. Ease of use is central to this.
The social intranet of A&M impact consists of a stable base that can be expanded with various functionalities and modules, so that it fits the wishes and needs of every care organization. The layout of the homepage with corporate News, a timeline with messages from different groups, static content and widgets speaks for itself. The entire homepage can be adapted to someone’s function and / or location. Furthermore, employees can also develop a layout themselves, so that the intranet feels like a personal workplace for everyone.
Working together as a basis
Collaboration is an essential part of the intranet, especially for organizations with many locations and for example home care organizations. A&M impact facilitates this with open and closed groups on the intranet, which can be created by employees themselves based on location, theme or project. Of course, the platform has a ‘smoelenboek’ (Faces directory), so you can get in touch with colleagues. In order to respond to a trend in healthcare – in which healthcare organizations collaborate across the borders of their organization – the portal also offers the opportunity to work multitenant and multi-target groups (for example with volunteers, relatives and chain partners).
Integration with ICT systems
A&M impact sees their social intranet as the shell around the ICT environment. To make it as smooth as possible for the end user, they integrate different systems on the social intranet. Think of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, through which files, emails and calendars are displayed on the intranet. Other applications integrated into the intranet include Topdesk, Zenya, Vilans and AFAS. With Single Sign-on, employees do not have to log in to these applications every time, but simply click through with the push of a button. The search bar in the platform makes it possible for users to search not only the social intranet, but also all linked applications.
User-friendly CMS
The user-friendliness of the portal is not just limited to the front. The back is also clear. A&M impact uses the Craft CMS. This CMS is known for its user-friendliness for editors and developers. It combines an intuitive interface with a lot of technical freedom behind the scenes. This makes it possible for A&M impact as a developer to create custom solutions, but it remains feasible for the end user without too much experience to manage the static content after a short training. A starting point of A&M is therefore that their platform must fit well with the average ICT level of a healthcare worker.
Thinking with care
Due to their full focus on the healthcare sector, the social intranet is tailored to the challenges that play in this sector. A&M impact regularly engages with healthcare institutions to collect wishes and needs. The modules they develop on this basis, such as mailings, a Learning Management System, Image bubbles, Narrowcasting , the image Bank and Nedap Ons, are all aimed at facilitating the work of caregivers. These modules can be purchased separately, so that you as an organization can build the intranet with blocks. You start with a stable foundation, and choose the modules that your organization needs to take digital work to the next level.
On the roadmap
the focus of A&M impact is and remains on healthcare. In addition to the standard development that users can expect, informal care is becoming an increasingly important factor for healthcare organizations. This means: informing and keeping relatives, clients and volunteers engaged. Those Target groups can also use the platform of A&M impact. They can be informed via the platform, but also seek contact with each other, register for activities with clients and make video calls with healthcare or digital daycare.
In the near future, the platform will be enriched with AI. For example, the search engine is expanded with the ability to search contextually, and editors can have their text edited by AI. The latest development is a chatbot. Soon you can get an answer to your question via this chatbot, or shoot a ticket into an external system.
Cost
The monthly costs per user depend on the number of users and the number of modules (functionality) that the organization purchases. Smaller organizations pay lower one-time setup costs, while larger organizations have lower costs per user. A portal including some modules is available from € 0,29 per user per month.
